![]() ![]() I’ve just honestly never met someone who works as hard as you do. Leslie: So I have to keep thinking about good ideas all the time or I’m no longer myself?īen: No no no, not at all. ![]() Leslie: What if the festival was like a high point for me and I never do anything better? Really the idea of the Harvest Festival is something that is so similar to Ice Town, that Ben really would have said "hell no" to anyone else, but he trusts Leslie and has faith in her to do this right. Because in the end, the reason why we’re all here is to bring people together.Ĭhris: That literally was the most moving thing I’ve ever heard. And we believe we can strengthen that community. Leslie: Look, we’re not just pencil pushers. Again Ben immediately seems to understand her more than anyone on this show.even Ann sometimes. Leslie was very adamant during that whole fiasco that the wedding was first and foremost "cute" and no-one would listen to her. Not just the adorable smiles Ben is always giving Leslie, but the simple fact that he called the wedding "cute" was just too perfect. This moment cemented for me that they're made for each other. And the point is, at least you tried something. Leslie: Well, I don’t know, I think Icetown sounds great. Newspaper headline was ‘Icetown Costs Ice Clown His Town Crown.’ It was never completed and I got impeached. Leslie: And it turned out great, and everyone loved it.īen: Uh, yeah, kind of. Really? Look, when I was 18, and I became mayor of my hometown, I used every last dollar we had to open a giant winter sports complex, called it Icetown. But enough about how cute it was, why don't you think I should have the money?īen: Good lord. ![]() Leslie: Last year I married two penguins at the zoo, and it turned out they were both gay. Leslie really puts her walls back up in this episode.Ben is not happy about that. They had started the summer on the same page and I'd like to think that while they worked together to get the Pawnee government back open they were able to really do well. The way they acted towards each other at the start of season 3 really confussed me. This smile kills me.he's just so excited to spend more time with her even though it's going to make his life much difficult. Leslie: Shall we begin then.I have so many ideas. He's obviously seriously in crush/lust mood already. I don't even have words.he actually paid Freddy Spaghetti to sing at the kids concert for Leslie!! Normally people don't do that for someone they've just met and has made their life very difficult. Leslie: Just, can you stop it? Okay? Just, for one moment, enjoy the fact that you provided a service for people, not of a cut, a service. I want the kids to have their concert.īen: Is that what you guys call me? Mean Ben?īen: Look, this is really great, today, but there’s gonna be a lot of pain ahead, Leslie. Only problem is that now he has to shutdown the entire government and lose all that headway he's made with her. And it has very practical and deep cuts in many of our services.īen's smile is so sweet when he realizes that he was really able to get Leslie to understand him and why he's here. Leslie: The suggested plan reduces our overall budget overall by 35%. I could go on forever about this kindred spirit. Deep down we learn that he's really just like Leslie and wants to do great things for his community, but he is afraid of dreaming too big and has played it safe since this event. Even though we don't get to learn much more about how his life went at this point, there is no doubt that this was very traumatic for him. The character of Ben Wyatt is just so well thought out and his background is so sad. No one’s going to elect you to do anything if you don’t show that you can be responsible. ![]() I mean you want to run for office someday, right?īen: Well you’re going to have to be able to make decision like this, Leslie. So I can run for office again someday and not be laughed at. And now I’m balancing budgets to show people I’m responsible. Leslie: What was the song you played at the swearing in ceremony?īen: Well you shouldn’t have been. Leslie: Why does that sound familiar? You’re Benji Wyatt. Ben: Uh…I have…small town called Partridge Minnesota. ![]()
